Would you rather sip in stillness…
or tap your foot along to something groovy?
Inspired by casual social settings: a Sunday arvo catch up or after-work drinks.
Groovin connects music lovers *aka Groovers - with local artist performing at pubs, bars, and restaurants.
Groovin is a mobile app concept designed to showcase expertise in human factors and mobile design. The project explored solution-driven thinking, digital brand design and high-fidelity prototyping using Figma.
My prototype incorporated custom icons, audio, animation, video, and keyboard interaction to create an engaging and immersive user experience, while demonstrating how thoughtful design can enhance spontaneous entertainment planning.

Finding the right atmosphere is hard.
Musicians struggle to reach locals; venues struggle to signal the vibe.
-
Groovin gives users a clear way to discover nearby live acts, from DJs to acoustic sets and instantly understand the vibe each venue offers even on weeknights!
It helps people choose the right atmosphere for their night while boosting exposure for local artists and foot traffic for venues.

An app that’s branding is inspired by the deep greens of a pool table and the rough grain of the wooden floor. The incorporation of texture and hand-drawn iconography speaks to the authenticity of a ‘local pub’ - the location in which I thought of the concept.
Groovin creates value for all sides of the live music experience. Groovers enjoy nights that better fit their plans, musicians gain more visibility and control over promotion, and venues see increased engagement and foot traffic from atmosphere-driven decisions
